STEAM and ACS

What is STEAM?

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics and refers to any subjects that fall under these disciplines. STEAM takes STEM to the next level, and is a way to take the benefits of STEM and complete the package by integrating these principles in and through the arts.
STEAM is important because it pervades every part of human lives. STEAM education brings in real-life situations and easily helps the student learn. It also helps to bridge the ethnic and gender gaps especially found in math, technology and science fields.

Who are ACS?

ACS is the abbreviation of Australian Council for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts And Mathematics). As a not-for-profit, member-based organisation, ACS strives to empower professionals, engage institutions and organisations, and enhance STEAM education in Australia and overseas.

ACS’s operation relies on the incredible contribution of our volunteer Board members and Network conveners as well as the generous support of our institutional members and corporate affiliates.
